I created Venus House as a space that goes beyond traditional therapy; a space that nurtures both healing and belonging.
I’ve seen firsthand how isolation and loneliness can profoundly affect mental health. Group settings provide a space to connect, gain new perspectives and cultivate empathy and compassion for oneself and others. These experiences often boost mood, well-being & confidence.
While I offer individual sessions, my philosophy is that healing is often limited when experienced alone. Group and workshop settings provide opportunities for deeper growth and insight that can’t always be achieved in isolation. I encourage you to explore our workshops and experience the benefits of healing and growth alongside others.
Throughout my counseling career I have also studied various forms of spirituality and their influence on healing. I began studying Astrology in 2016, participating in courses and online seminars with Professional Astrologers such as Anne Ortelee and Rick Levine. I also earned a Professional Certificate in Spiritual Competency Training in Mental Health, taught by Dr. Kenneth Pargament, a leading expert in the field.
I strongly believe in education, formal training and staying informed about emerging research in the field. As a clinician, it is important to understand the outcomes of different interventions and the factors that support long-term well-being. I regularly participate in professional development and continuing education courses & conferences each year to stay current with research and evolving best practices. A growing body of research now highlights the positive role spiritual care can play in mental health, with important contributions from researchers such as Howard Koh, Tyler VanderWeele, Lisa Miller, and Harold Koenig.
Venus House
Philosophy & Approach
One of my goals for Venus House is to make spirituality accessible; something to be shared openly, never guarded, and never watered down. I believe everyone has the capacity to engage with these tools deeply, both intuitively and intellectually. That’s why my approach is rooted in teaching from the ground up, helping each person gain the knowledge and confidence to continue their own practices independently. My intention is for clients to truly learn the tools, not just receive insights from me, but to develop skills they can carry into their own lives long after our time together.
Rather than simplifying or commercializing spiritual practices, I teach them in their full depth & context: honoring their history, symbolism and purpose in healing. This isn’t “pop spirituality,” it’s about understanding the language of the soul, the patterns that shape us, and the ancient wisdom that helps us reconnect to ourselves & one another.
One of my primary motivations for creating Venus House is to help bring stronger ethical awareness into spiritual spaces. Too often spiritual practitioners are working with psychologically vulnerable individuals without formal mental health training, which can lead to blurred boundaries, harm, or unaddressed clinical concerns. Venus House bridges mental health and spirituality through formal training, clinical grounding, and ongoing conversations about ethics. My intention is not to replace one field with the other, but to hold both with integrity, responsibility & respect for scope of practice.
